話說正在寫計劃跟教育部要錢,其中有一項要求(佔20%)是這樣的:

"5 指導教授書面個人資料
包括專業領域、傑出研究表現及學術聲譽等之得獎名稱(例如諾貝爾獎等),有網站可供審查查詢者請併附填網址"

聽起來就是把系上幾個最出名的老師,不分青紅皂白想辦法寫進你的計劃中,在計劃裡過過王牌教授的黃金研究生之乾癮。我研究了好久,才發現我的論文指導教授們,光榮事蹟還不少,寫成英文看起來還好,寫成中文就顯得一飛沖天,讓我深深覺得膜拜就好,今生要跟他們拚,真的很拚…

最妙的是這三位還大有淵源,冰島是席琳在Brown的學弟(雖然差12屆),席琳和冰島都在Brown當過郭許來德的學生,席琳還是郭許第一次收的研究生。所以我要叫郭許師祖/祖媽,叫席琳大師父,叫冰島小師父。去年口試論文時,郭許還說24年前你家的席琳老師也被我電過,不過你的表現不錯,我要寫信告訴她 (那怎麼沒加薪呢…)

廢話少說,節錄重點如下:

席琳老師:

Celine Le Bourdais是加拿大McGill社會學系教授,同時也是加拿大研究院社會統計與家庭變遷研究主席 (Canada Research Chair in Social Statistics and Family Change),在加拿大只有三位人口學領域的教授獲此殊榮,其中之一的本系Shelley Clark教授,也將是本人未來的指導教授之一。Le Bourdais教授1984年畢業於Brown大學社會所,1989-1993擔任Société at the Institutnational de la recherche scientifique (INRS), Centre Urbanisation, Culture et Société (UCS) 都市社會研究中心的主任,1997年創建Inter-University Centre for Demographic Study (CIED)人口研究中心,2000年迄今擔任魁北克高等學院社會統計中心主任 (Quebec Inter-University Centre for Social Statistics, QICSS),統籌魁北克七所大學及加拿大統計局(Statistic Canada)人口調查資料的使用與訓練。

Le Bourdais教授先後任教於University of Montreal 人口學系 (2000-2004)及McGill University社會系 (2004迄今),專長為貫時性調查分析,家庭轉型與人口變遷,婚姻、生育率、勞動市場的變化,對女性及家庭的影響,以及相對應的家庭政策。其近期著作涵蓋:配偶的婚姻及關係穩定度,親職時間與家務分工,單親及繼生家庭的成因與影響,父母婚姻關係對子婚姻的代間傳遞,以及父母分居後,父親與子女間關係的維繫。有相當多的著作,刊登在家庭社會學領域最著名的Journal of Marriage and Family及Journal of Family Issue中。

冰島先生

John Iceland是美國賓州州立大學教授 (2008迄今)。1997年畢業於Brown大學社會所,2001-2003年擔任美國人口統計局健康與貧窮統計中心主任 (Poverty and health Statistics Branch, Census Bureau), 2003-2008任教於馬里蘭大學並擔任馬里蘭人口中心 (Maryland Population Research Center, MPRC) 副主任,2008年轉至賓州州立大學升等為教授,並擔任賓州州立大學人口中心資深研究員。歷任美國社會學學會人口學提名委員會主席 (2008),美國人口學學會發展委員 (2008迄今),Demography,Social Problems, Social Science Quarterly等期刊編輯 (2006迄今),National Science Foundation Office of Cyberinfrastructure研究計畫審議委員 (2008),NICHD人口學研究計畫審議委員 (2007-2009),,以及史丹福大學貧窮及不平等研究中心諮議委員 (2008迄今)。

Iceland教授的研究專長涵蓋社會人口學,貧窮,居住隔離,移民等。近期著作頗豐,包括兩本著書以及數篇刊登於American Sociological Review 及 Demography等社會學、人口學著名期刊。近期代表著作及目前研究計畫如下。本人在馬里蘭大學攻讀碩士學位的兩年期間,擔任Iceland教授的計畫”The Social Safety Net, Poverty and Material Hardship.” (NIH: R01) 研究助理,負責建構並分析美國的貧窮人口與居住隔離的資料。Iceland教授同時也是本人碩士論文主要指導教授。

郭許(來德)老師

Frances Goldscheider是美國馬里蘭大學家庭研究學系College Park榮譽教授,1971年畢業於賓州大學人口學系,1980-1995擔任Rand研究員,1974-2006年任教於Brown大學社會系,並於1984-1987年擔任該系系主任,1989-1995擔任Brown大學人口研究中心主任;1988-1989年擔任美國社會學學會人口學組主席,1991-1992年任美國人口學學會副會長,1993專書 ”New Families, No Families” 榮獲美國社會學學會Otis Dudley Duncan Award,1994-1995擔任Demography期刊主編,並曾先後擔任American Sociological Review, Social Force, Journal of Gerontology等期刊編輯;1983、2001兩次榮獲Fulbright Fellowship,並於2007年榮獲美國社會學學會終生成就獎 (Career award, Family section)。

Goldscheider教授的研究專長為家庭人口學,性別角色,量化方法,由1973年迄今,研究成年子女與家庭轉型長達35年之久,是美國社會學界研究子女離家與返家的權威。Goldscheider教授是本人碩士論文指導教授之一,對論文初稿提供許多專業的建議。
